The Givatayim project focused on transforming a challenging outdoor courtyard into a private green sanctuary in the heart of the city. The primary architectural challenge lay in the layout of the terrace- two long, narrow wings meeting at a triangular point – a complex structure that had left the space unused for years. To overcome these spatial constraints, a creative solution was implemented, centered on shifting perspectives and creating visual depth. The main seating area was relocated to the far end of the plot onto a custom elevated platform, establishing a new and inviting focal point.

The transition to this hosting area is defined by an “infinite green corridor” a pathway lined with rich vegetation that evokes a sense of endless space from the moment one steps outside. To further expand the narrow proportions, the flooring was replaced with long, narrow tiles in a Fishbone pattern, a technique designed to add significant depth and scale. The entire perimeter of the garden was treated with uniform wall cladding to create a cohesive, warm, and inviting design language that ties the space together.

Guided by the clients’ vision of a high-end resort aesthetic, great emphasis was placed on privacy within the urban environment. Custom-designed slat fences were installed, allowing natural light to filter through while effectively shielding the garden from neighbors’ views. The plant palette was carefully selected to maintain this lush “resort” feel with minimal maintenance, perfectly suited to a modern lifestyle. The result is an urban oasis that seamlessly blends smart functionality with uncompromising luxury.
