Neve Tzedek: A Townhouse with a Hidden Tropical Garden

In the heart of the picturesque Neve Tzedek neighborhood in Tel Aviv, we designed an outdoor space for a modern townhouse, guided by a vision of creating an island of calm completely detached from the urban pace. The project, carried out in collaboration with the design studio arc2, focused on creating an intimate, sheltered, and private experience, while shaping a rich and soothing “urban jungle” aesthetic.
Along the swimming pool, we designed a planter flush with the waterline, allowing the vegetation to touch the water and create a sense of wild nature with soft and striking reflections.
We selected a rich tropical planting palette with broad leaves and a dominant presence, evoking a vacation-like atmosphere and a sense of relaxation.
We achieved complete privacy on a dense plot without blocking natural light, and designed a unique system of planters that serves as a green, natural buffer from the surrounding buildings.
The placement and height of the vegetation allow for gentle filtering of sunlight into the interior spaces, keeping the space bright, open, and completely disconnected from the urban surroundings.
